Have a magical birthday

Hi again

This card is one i made just for fun, so no rules and i could go crazy with whatever i wanted :)

I've used 'Flying Tilda' coloured with distress inks, one of Caz's fab sentiment tickets, flowers made with blossom nesties, and sprayed with glimmer mists, papers from stash. The ribbon came with my pjs from primark lol, and is coloured with 'sandstone promarker'. Everything else is from my stash, and its all inked with antique linen distress ink, and glittered with glitz it gold and silver glitter glues.

I've coloured Tilda with distress inks:

Skin-antique linen and tattered roses

Dress, shoes, wand, wings, cheeks - spun sugar

Her hair is coloured with watercolour pencils
I'm entering it in these challenges:

Flutterby Wednesday - Anything goes

Stampavie - Birthday for a girl

Paperplay - Up in the air

Secret Crafter - buttons and blooms

Crafty Cardmakers Guest Designer ***big smiles**

Hello...me again!
I've got something else to show you after this too!...can you tell its school holidays? haha
I was sooooo happy when i was asked to be crafty cardmakers guest designer :D I've loved this challenge blog ever since it started, so it's such an honour for them to choose me...thanks Vix and Judie :)
I was given a gorgeous image to play with, which is from Stitchy Bear Stamps, and she is stunning! I tried doing a scene type card with my distress inks, but some idiot (ie me!) didn't let the background dry before trying to print the fairy on it. The ink ran everywhere, it was a right mess! Ah well...i've learnt my lesson, and made this instead :)
The challenge is 'Least and Most', so you have to use your least fave colour and your favourite colour. I chose 'tealy-blue' as my favourite colour, and brown as my least fave colour. The colours don't show properly on the pic, so you have to imagine it brighter :)

The image is edged with distress inks - broken china and antique linen. The flowers are made from my blossom nesties, papermania cardstock, ribbon, gems and brads from stash.

I'm entering it in the Quixotic challenge, which is 'emboss it'

Don't forget to hop over to Crafty Cardmakers to play along :)

I've coloured the image with promarkers, the carstock is papermania, and the buttons, ribbon and gems are from my stash.

Remember Me ???

Hello everyone :)
Do you remember me? I'm the person who hasn't updated my blog in about a week and a half!!! Tut tut tut! But i'm very happy that you liked the sentiment tutorial. I've seen some gorgeous sentiments about too :D
I'm not best pleased with this card, but i thought i'd better show my face around here, so here it is.
I've used papermania scallopped cardstock, flower stamp cut out (don't know make), and white sakura pen for the doodling. I went a bit ott with the pen, and thats the bit i don't like, but y'know! :)

Seniment Tutorial

Hey!

I've had a couple of comments and emails about how i make my sentiments, and (in Sarah's words) how i get all the fonts in the right places. So i've made a quick tutorial which i hope will help some of you :)

I'm using Microsoft Word (the old version) but you can use pretty much any program that lets you put text in a text box. So...here goes!

(the picture goes with the instruction above)

1. Open a new document, and type each word into a seperate text box, using the text box tool (red ring)

2. Make the text boxes transparent, by clicking on the 'Fill' tool, and clicking 'No Fill'

3. Make the text boxes have no line, by clicking on the 'Line' tool, and clicking 'No Line'

4. Change the fonts, sizes and colours to whatever you want

(I've used scriptina (swirly one) in size 32, and Accord Light SF in size 14) 5. Then you can move them around, until you are happy...and print!

I hope i've explained it right, and you understand...I am half asleep and just about to go to bed!!! :D

Oh...and by the way...i think i did ok in my exam :) Thanks for the good lucks :D
Thanks for stopping by,
Rachel xx

Something Completely Different

Hi Bloggers!
I'm back again :D I should really be revising for an exam i've got tomorrow...but instead i'm sat on the sofa watching a film, typing this, with my gorgeous cat and a cuppa!!! But hey!...I'm happy :D

I felt like making something different from my norm today, and this is what i came up with. Even though it's so simple, there's tonnes of things i've never done before/havn't done in a while. I've never done a top-fold rectangle card, and havn't done a rectangle in ages and i've tried embossing the edges with the scoring tool on my cutter, which i think looks fab! (if i do say so myself lol) The sentiment is made in word and printed, but i think it should be a bit bigger really? I've used papermania scalloped cardstock, ribbon coloured with 'sandstone' promarker, and anitas gems, and everything is slightly edged with walnut stain distress ink.
I'm entering it in Tuesday Taggers, which is to 'step outside your comfort zone'
