Distress Inks

Hellooooo
Just a quick post from me today, because we're just about to go to grandma and grandads for sunday lunch on a saturday :D
I bought some ranger distress inks yesterday and this is the first time i've used them. I only got 2... walnut stain and tattered rose but i love them! The papers are from the paper cellar, image from katy, diy roses, everything else from stash.






I'm entering it into Friday Sketchers challenge which was a fab layout.

Hiya

Well is it fair to say i'm back into this whole blogging lark now? I think so :) Today i've got a card for lots of challenges, seems as their all about valentines at the moment. I got an order last week for a valentines card, but i've only just made it and he's coming to pick it up tomorow... that was a bit close. I've used papers from the papermania capsule collection (again), image from digi stamp boutique coloured with promarkers and paper pieced, dove craft ribbon, diy roses like in my tutorial here and everything else from stash.

Shabby Rose Tutorial

Hi everyone

2 posts in one day! Can you tell my mojo's back!?!

I've got a tutorial for you today. When I posted my last card on docrafts last night, I was asked to make a tutorial of the large roses i'd made, so here it is! I'm not too good at tutorials, as I usually just make things up as I go along, so you might have to use your imagination a little bit for this to work. lol The instruction goes with the picture below.

What you'll need:

Double sided coloured paper

Co-ordinating ink pad

Brad (any colour or shape as it will be covered up)

Scissors

Pokey Tool

Glitter or any other decorations (optional)

1- Fold the paper about 5/6 times until you reach the end

2- Cut out 3 differnt sized petal shapes

(You'll end up with 5/6 of each, depending on how many times you folded the paper)

3- Ink the edges of each petal, and prick a hole, near the point, with a pokey tool (or similar)

4- Crumple each petal to add depth

5- Put all the petals on the brad. Starting with the small ones, then the medium, then the large.

6- Shape the small petals around the brad, to cover it up, and create a center

7- Shape the medium petals around the small, and then do the same for the large. You can play around with it untill you like the shape. And you can add more petals, glitter, glossy accents...what ever you want, for a different look.

The gold roses on the card i made yesterday are made this way, with an extra layer of petals and glitter glue on the edges as well as inks.

Card for my bedroom :)

Hi everyone
I hope you're having a nice weekend. We've just had a lazy day today which was nice. I was up at 6.30 this morning for some reason, so had a couple of hours on my own colouring images and making roses until my lazy family got up at 11.00! Then I havn't really done much else... watched a film, done some boring english coursework :(... and now blogging this card i made yesterday. I was having a look through Mandy's blog yesterday morning, when i found Hanna's fabby blog. Her cards are amazing! And she's only 13. I've used one of her fab layouts and a couple of her techniques on this card so i hope you like it.
I started making this as a card, but decided i wouldn't like to give it away, because i'm a meany :), so I personalised it to go on my bedroom wall. Now my sister wants one for near her bed so i'll have to get on with that.

grrrrrr brother's birthday card!

Hi everyone

I thought i'd better get started on my brothers birthday cards for the beginning of march and this is the first one. I've got to make 4 from different people and i hate guys cards! The image was sent by chelsea coloured with promarkers, embossed background, punched edge sent by a docrafter and everything else from stash. I'm entering it in the Friday Sketchers challenge.

I'm a very naughty blogger aren't I! I never posted my award or my card from chelsea on monday so i'm doing it now after i've showed you my card...tut tut!

I made this using papermania capsule collection papers (again!) Image from charmed cards and crafts coloured with promarkers, cuttlebug embossing folder, roses from mad about cards and handmade, donated punched edge and everything else from stash.

hello bloggers!

I'm just posting this card and then off to bed for me! I'll be back tomorow though with an award from mandy...thanks.
I've been playing with my new capsule collection papers again...i love em! I've also been experimenting with my mini x-cut flower punch and came up with some little white roses so i've used lots of them on this card. I've had the punch for ages but havn't really used it much yet. The anya was sent by my new docrafts buddy chelsea, who is 11 and makes gorgeous cards. I've just done a card swap with her so i'll show you the card she sent me tomorrow too. I've had the doily for a while too but havn't used any yet. The pearls, gems, ribbon and bigger white roses are from my stash.

Hiya!

Well, i think i've finally found my mojo. I ordered some of the new papermania capsule collection papers to see if tha helped....and it did! :) So this is the first card i've made in ages. I tried to follow the paper pattern with the gems but i ran out of blue gems so only did certain bits.
