80th Birthday card with box

Hi all, long time no see eh?

Anyways, here is a card I made at the weekend for an order :)
I have used 'Tilda with Butterfly' as the main image, coloured with distress inks, an old Prima flourish stamp, inked with Walnut Stain distress ink, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, a doily, an x-cut butterfly punch, and some chipboard numbers. The papers are sooo beautiful in real life. I had so much trouble cutting into them! Everything is sewn with white thread and inked with Walnut Stain, and then i added some gems and a charm to finish.
Tilda is coloured with distress inks:
Skin - Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Victorian Velvet and Tattered Rose
Hair - Antique Linen and Vintage Photo
Shoes - Walnut Stain
Dress, Socks and Butterfly - Broken China and Black Soot
Flower - Victorian Velvet
And this is the box, which i just decorated with some stitched paper and a panel to write on :)
I would like to enter this in Truly Scrumptious - Distressing

Crochet Flower Bracelet

Hi all!

Here is a little bracelet I made this afternoon. It's so simple and easy to make, but so pretty (in my opinion lol) As you can see, it is just a flower, with a circle center attached to a band with a circle button hole and button fastener. And to fasten it - this little button...
Goes into this little hole...
Like this!...

Pretty Little Butterfly

I made a card! And it was sooo much fun :D

I followed the fabulous sketch from Magnolia Down Under using 'Tilda with Hawaiian Flower' and a magnolia butterfly stamp coloured with distress inks.

The flowers and seam binding are both from Wild Orchid Crafts, the music paper is by 7gypsies, but i'm afraid i don't know the make of the pink one. The flower border is an x-cut cut and emboss die and then I just added a doily, some x-cut punched butterflies, a hand-cut tag, string, a charm and some pearls. All of the edges are inked with Walnut Stain distress ink and distressed with scissors. Distress ink colours:
Skin - Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose & Victorian Velvet
Hair - Walnut Stain
Dress, socks, butterflies, flowers - Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose & Black Soot
Shoes - Vintage Photo & Black Soot

I'm entering this in:
Allsorts - things with wings
Totally Gorjuss - string or twine
Charisma - something that flies

Hellooooo!

Here's some cute little earrings I crocheted last night. They are made from normal sewing thread so it's very fiddly as you can probably imagine!

I think I need some in every colour :) I hope you like them :)

Ice cream anyone? Well nearly!

Hello everyone :)

Here's some pictures of cupcakes i made at the weekend for mothers day. I've seen these a couple of times on American blogs, and thought i'd have a go. You just put your normal cake mixture into ice cream cornets and cook them just as you would in cases. It's very clever. I think they'd be fab for summer birthday parties :)
Thanks for looking, I'll be back soon... promise!

My first proper go on the sewing machine! :D

Hey bloggers!

I hope you're all well :)

This afternoon i've been having a proper play with the sewing machine for the first time; even though we've had it about 4 years! Before today I was a straight line on a bit of scrap material type of person, but i thought i'd better move on a bit from that, so here's what i've made...

(and yes i have taken the photos on the machine!)

Not perfect, but it's pretty cute eh?! It's supprising what you can make out of a pair of old jeans :P
The pattern is from here, and it's free for personal use if anyone fancies a go.
I forgot to take pictures of the lining inside, but you can sort of see it on this next piccy.

You're all lovely :)

Vintage style - Trinket box

Hi again!

I've been working on this little project for the past couple of days, and i have to say... i'm really pleased with how it's turned out :) It's a long time since i've said that about something i've made!

It's a very different style to my usual, but i wanted to try something a bit different, so here it is...

I made the box from cardboard and gum tape, so that hopefully(!) it will last a bit longer than if it was just cardstock stuck with glue.

The gorgeous image is a freebie from Magic Moonlight, which i printed onto linen effect cardstock, sanded, and inked with Antique Linen distress ink. Then i stuck a piece of acetate over the image, and covered it with a thick layer of 3D gloss to make a dome effect. (the acetate was to stop the printer ink smudging)

I went a bit OTT with the pearls, but anyways... it's pretty :PThe paper is by 7gypsies, but you can barely see it in the end because of the lace! And all of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and are glittered with 'Star Dust' stickles.
Then i just added some string and a heart charm... et voila!
I'm entering this in:

Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
ABC challenge - P is for pearls

Attempting crochet...

Hey!

Thankyou for your lovely comments on my latest card :)

People who've been following my blog for a while will probably know how much i like to try new things. Well... my latest venture is crochet!

I spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon watching videos on youtube, and getting in a complete muddle with a big ball of tangled yarn... But then somehow, something just clicked and i managed to make these flowers :) Cute eh?!

If anyone fancies a go at crochet, I can recomend this video for the basic stitch, and then i used this one from Little Birdie Secrets to make the flowers :)
